Offering made-from-scratch Mediterranean cuisine at 522 E Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach, the increasingly popular Amar Mediterranean Bistro has outgrown its current home and is preparing to move to a new location, the former of home of Bar 25, at 25 SE Sixth Ave.

“We are working on the renovations right now,” owner Nicolas Kurban told What Now on Friday. “We expect to make the transition by mid-October.”

The new location will serve up many of the same favorites offered in the Atlantic Avenue space, but the location’s larger footprint will allow for many new choices. (Also more seating: 175 spots.)

“I would say it will be about 70-percent the same menu,” said Kurban. “We’re definitely upgrading, adding more shrimp plates, mezze, craft cocktails, a bigger wine and beer list, happy hour deals, and so on.”

Kurban is expecting less than a week of interruption between closing on Atlantic and reopening on Sixth Avenue.

That’s not all: Amar Bistro’s current location will then transform into a wood-fired pizza concept, Gesto, also owned by Kurban, which is expected to launch in November.

“That’s going to be wood-fired pizza, a very artisanal project with high-end ingredients. There will be a small menu with couple of salads and a nice small wine list, but the focus is on pizza.”

Sounds good to us!
