Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, which originated in North Scottsdale in 2011 by Square One Concepts, is preparing to open a new location in Gilbert at 1026 S Gilbert Rd.

The company’s newest Arizona location is expected to move into the former home of Famous 66, also owned by Square One Concepts. Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers will open its 18th Arizona location in a space in Gilbert Town Square that has seen six tenants in the last 16 years. A representative from the company tells What Now Phoenix that this location will open either after Christmas or at the beginning of the year, although opening dates can be fluid.

The restaurant hopes to break the steady turnover rate at this location with a menu featuring 19 specialty burgers and more than 150 beer options. In addition to having all the burgers and beer one could want, Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers will honor the previous tenant by keeping Famous 66’s custom-order shakes and ice cream cookie sandwiches on the menu. Other Square One Concepts include Bourbon & Bones, Wasted Grain, and Nook Kitchen. The restaurant group recently opened a new location in Euless, TX.

“Each location is casual and friendly, featuring comfortable leather booths, butcher block tables, over 30 HD flat-screen TVs, and a great sound system to catch all of your favorite sporting events,” according to the company’s website. “Each location has a patio to enjoy the beautiful Arizona weather. Most patios feature roll-up garage doors, indoor/outdoor bars for direct service, and high-top community tables with built-in beer coolers. No matter which location you visit, our hospitality management expertise ensures you’ll find great service, amazing food, a high-energy atmosphere, and a neighborhood feel!”
