According to a recently submitted permit application, local restaurateur Levent Sahin is debuting a new concept in Livermore, listed as Calamari Restaurant & Wine Bar.

Coming to 2020 First Street, a space currently occupied by Roya Afghan Cuisine, the eatery will land near establishments such as First Street Alehouse, Monica’s Livermore, and Demitri’s Taverna.

While public information about the restaurant is still sparse, Sahin — a chef and restaurateur born and raised in Istanbul — has been working in the restaurant industry for over 20 years.

From Turkey, “his adventurous personality led him to San Francisco for a new experience, where he could improve on and expand his skills in a U.S. context in both the kitchen and the front of the house. After spending four years in the Bay Area, he decided to move to Seattle in 2018,” the Kitchen Istanbul Seattle website shares.

Now, he seems to be making a return.

What Now San Francisco reached out to Sahin to inquire about the upcoming restaurant, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
