A wave of exciting changes is sweeping through PlazAmericas Mall, located at 7500 Bellaire Blvd, promising a rejuvenated space for families, food enthusiasts, and local businesses. At the forefront of this transformation is a brand new boba teahouse concept, co-owned by David Tu. This innovative teahouse will offer a unique and refreshing addition to the mall’s evolving landscape.

The “Houston Trade Center,” formerly known as the Macy’s building, is already bustling with locally owned jewelers and small businesses. Now, it’s gearing up for the addition of a brand new food hall and a playground for toddlers. With plans to include arcades and event spaces, the mall is poised to become a vibrant hub for community engagement. “We want to create a space where people can start their own businesses and make a living for their families.,” shared Tu in response to the mall’s restructuring and enhancements.

On the opposite side of the mall, construction is underway to develop new eateries and retail spaces. Among these exciting additions is La Cabra, a sports-themed restaurant and bar, alongside the eagerly anticipated boba teahouse, both co-owned by Tu.

Tu’s role extends beyond co-owning the the two restaurants; he is deeply involved in curating the concepts and operators for the entire development. He is also overseeing the food court and its updates and changes to come.

Both the new teahouse and La Cabra are slated to open by Fall 2024, promising diverse culinary experiences for visitors.
