Cowboix Hevvven, a bold new concept blending art, culture, and culinary adventure, is set to become a standout attraction within Meow Wolf Houston. Located at 2103 Lyons Ave in Houston’s historic Fifth Ward, this immersive restaurant and bar invites visitors to explore a space that defies conventional boundaries, merging the familiar with the fantastical in ways only Meow Wolf can.

The brainchild of Lead Artist and Creative Director Cole Bee Wilson, Cowboix Hevvven is a homage to Texas culture, reimagined through a psychedelic lens. With a seating capacity of around 50 and a space of roughly 1,200 square feet, the venue promises an intimate yet expansive experience that feels both rooted in the past and catapulted into the future. As part of the mysterious Meow Wolf Houston exhibition, Cowboix Hevvven is poised to be a central feature, offering a working bar and restaurant amidst an environment teeming with unique, otherworldly characters.

“It’s spelled “Cowboix” as to be genderless. Everyone’s a Cowboix here.,” shared a representative from Meow Wolf. “And the spelling “Hevvven” contains three V’s, acting as arrows that point to hell, drawing attention that we are in neither, but somewhere else in the middle. The whole space and concept makes use of the classic Angel/Devil archetypes.”

Visitors can expect a rich narrative experience, where even the décor is imbued with meaning. The bar is designed to challenge perceptions, featuring sculptures and installations that provoke curiosity and reflection. From a weeping grief creature to a disco ball-headed pool shark, each element within Cowboix Hevvven tells a story, encouraging guests to look beyond surface appearances and delve into deeper truths.

Complementing the immersive art, the menu at Cowboix Hevvven offers a twisted take on classic dive bar fare, perfectly aligning with the venue’s eclectic, surreal atmosphere. As Meow Wolf Houston’s opening day draws near, anticipation for this unique blend of Texan hospitality and avant-garde creativity continues to build. Cowboix Hevvven is not just a place to eat and drink; it’s an invitation to explore, question, and experience a piece of the afterlife, Texas-style.

Meow Wolf Houston and its featured Cowboix Hevvven are slated to open at the end of 2024.
