Houston institution Katz’s Deli is bringing its signature 24-hour service to Memorial City with its fifth location at 10321-A Katy Freeway. This highly anticipated expansion is part of Memorial City’s mixed-use development, announced by MetroNational, the real estate company managing the area. Barry Katz, owner of Katz’s Deli, expressed his enthusiasm for the new venture: “We have been looking for a long time for a location in this area and are excited about this specific location.”
The 6,381-square-foot space will feature both indoor and outdoor dining, with a 5,260-square-foot dining room and a 1,121-square-foot patio. Designed by Michael Hsu Office of Architecture, the restaurant will include New York-inspired design elements like white subway tile, mosaic flooring, curved archways, and a concrete u-shaped bar, creating a familiar yet unique ambiance.
“Every 3-4 months we are always adding new items to our menu,” Katz told What Now Houston, reflecting the deli’s commitment to keeping the dining experience dynamic and enjoyable for regulars and newcomers alike. This give patrons more reasons to revisit to see the updated options, also giving confidence in the brand’s continued expansion efforts.
Danna Diamond, Vice President of Retail Leasing for MetroNational, emphasized Katz’s Deli’s alignment with Memorial City’s vibrant food scene. “Katz’s Deli is a beloved local institution, and their decision to bring their next Houston-area location to Memorial City is a testament to the ongoing demand for top-tier food and beverage restaurants,” Diamond remarked. The 24-hour diner will be especially valuable to employees at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center and the surrounding businesses that rely on flexible dining options.
Memorial City, developed by MetroNational, spans nearly 300 acres, offering a mix of office, retail, and hospitality spaces. With this addition, Katz’s Deli joins a growing list of high-profile restaurants in the area, enriching Memorial City’s culinary landscape and extending its appeal to residents, visitors, and professionals alike.
This newest outpost of Katz’s Deli is set to open in late 2025 or early 2026.
