The Chimney Sweep Lounge appears to be reopening under new ownership, according to a recent liquor license application.

The East Valley dive bar seemed to be on the up and up when it suddenly closed earlier this year. In February, it posted a behind the scenes shot of an interview with LA Magazine on Instagram, and underneath one user comments, “How did you go from this to permanently closed in less than 2 months?”

The answer to that question is still unclear, but one Reddit user claims they were there when the bar was allegedly raided a few months back.

Nonetheless, public records indicate that Chimney Sweep was sold to a new owner, which lists Cherrelle Majano as its managing member.

A reopening date for the bar is currently unknown. Majano could not be immediately reached for comment.
