According to a recently submitted permit application, the former owner of Freddie J’s Bar & Lounge — a “comfortable, brick-walled watering hole” in San Jose — plans to open a new dining concept in the city.

Coming to 33 E San Fernando Street, Kaizen Lounge will land near establishments such as EggHead Sando Cafe, Paper Plane, and Rec Room.

What Now San Francisco reached out to the upcoming restaurant’s owner, Freddie Jackson, to inquire about his plans for Kaizen. While he was able to confirm the name of the business, he could not provide additional information before the time of publication.

Nevertheless, based on the eatery’s name, locals can likely expect to find Japanese food on the menu.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
