Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, a national coffee franchise known for its sourcing of premium Hawaiian coffees and cafés, has opened its second location in Cypress, TX in December. Located at 11930 Barker Cypress Rd. suite 800, the new location will offer handcrafted coffees with a kick, branded merchandise, and a food menu with a Hawaiian twist.
The Cypress location of Bad Ass Coffee is owned by business partners Heath Rushing and Kyle Price, marking their second opening under a 10-unit development agreement. After being friends for more than 15 years, the two decided to take their love for adventure into a new business that matched their personalities. Price’s wife, Kim, first introduced them to Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, and they quickly recognized the brand’s unique blend of Hawaiian culture and high-quality coffee made for a ripe investment.
“We’re incredibly excited to be opening our second Bad Ass Coffee location and can’t wait to welcome the southeast Cypress community to experience the bold flavors of Hawaiian coffee,” said Rushing in a statement. “We want everyone who walks through our doors to feel like a true badass while enjoying a unique coffee experience rooted in the spirit of Hawaii. We look forward to providing the community with a fresh taste of the islands with every sip,” added Price.
In addition to premium Hawaiian coffees, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii serves up a full menu of blended drinks, lattes, cold brews, teas and foods with a Hawaiian twist. Guests can enjoy an island-inspired experience with nods to Bad Ass Coffee’s Hawaiian roots, savoring signature offerings in a comfortable space. Those looking to take the taste of Hawaii home can purchase packages of Hawaiian blends and single-origin coffee beans including 100% Kona, single serve pods and flavored coffee, along with a variety of playful branded merchandise.
“Heath & Kyle have become such an integral part of the Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii ‘ohana, making a significant impact as the first to introduce the brand in the great state of Texas last year,” said Scott Snyder, CEO of Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii. “Since then, their business has not only continued its upward trajectory and creating the opportunity for this second location, but they’ve made a lasting impact as a contributing member to the well-being of the Cypress Community. It’s that kind of commitment and “give back” investment in their community by the entire Cypress Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii ‘ohana that we’re most proud of,” Snyder said.
Guests are invited to join ‘Ohana Rewards, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii’s loyalty program. New ‘Ohana Rewards members will receive $5 off and 89 Lei (points) after their first purchase as a member. A two-day grand opening celebration will be held in the weeks after opening, where guests can enjoy giveaways, games, and of course, coffee. There will also be a giveback initiative with a charity partner at the event.
Born on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1989, Bad Ass Coffee was founded on the dream of sharing American-grown, premium Hawaiian coffee with people everywhere. The brand invites guests to embrace their adventurous spirit, with its coffee beans sourced from the famous Kona region of the Big Island, Kauai and Maui. Its name pays tribute to Hawaiian coffee history – donkeys could often be heard bellowing as they carried precious loads of coffee beans down the steep mountains of the Big Island. The people of Kona named these hard-working donkeys the “Bad Ass Ones” because of their reliably strong, but stubborn nature in carrying their cargo.
Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii – Barker Cypress is open Monday – Sunday, from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m.
With rapid expansion underway, the brand has set aggressive expansion plans to open a multitude of new locations in the greater Houston area and nationally over the next five years, with territories available nationwide.
