Charleston-born barbecue brand Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ offers the celebrated barbecue flavors of its eponymous Beard Award-winning pitmaster Rodney Scott at locations in South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. Now, the brand is planning its first Florida location in Miami’s Little River neighborhood, at 7100 N Miami Avenue, according to coverage by the Miami New Times.
According to the New Times, no opening date has been announced yet by the barbecue brand, which represents a partnership between Rodney Scott and Nick Pihakis. What Now reached out to Pihakis on Thursday to ask for a rough estimate.
“It will be probably be August,” Pihakis said.
And the menu? What Now asked. Can we expect the same menu you find at the other locations?
“Of course,” Pihais answered. “It’s Rodney Scott’s.”
So there you have it: expect sandwiches and combo plates packed with pit-cooked meats. There’s Rod’s Original Whole Hog Pulled Pork Sandwich (Carolina Style, pit-cooked whole hog, mopped with Rodney’s sauce, pulled & served open-face with crispy pork skins on top), appetizers like Brisket Chili and Smoked Chicken Wings, classic sides like Potato Salad and Collard Greens, and lots more.
“In addition to serving outstanding food, Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ is committed to passing on the enjoyment, education and tradition of whole hog bbq to new generations,” says the Rodney Scott’s website.
