Salt Point Beverage Company began in 2016 selling a single, simple drink – a Moscow Mule. While the popular vodka-ginger-beer-and-lime cocktail is traditionally served in a copper mug, Salt Point owner Heather Wyatt had a different idea – can it. From that moment on, Salt Point began its long journey to the top.

Starting out with a simple, canned Moscow Mule, Salt Point quickly exploded in popularity. The portable cocktail became the perfect addition to any picnic, hike, or beach excursion – and San Francisco couldn’t get enough.

Only two years later and Salt Point added its second and third cocktails, a Gin Highball and The Greyhound, a blend of distilled vodka, grapefruit, lime, and seltzer. Soon they were picked up by Whole Foods in Northern California, and before long the small cocktail company became a staple on shelves across 350+ stores throughout California. In a span of less than five years, Heather turned her single Moscow Mule can into one of the largest independent beverage distributors in the state.

Now, the humble indie distiller is gearing up for its biggest move yet. According to licenses uncovered by a What Now San Francisco investigation, Salt Point Beverage Co recently secured the lease to a massive new distribution center at 9401 San Leandro Street in Oakland. Salt Point has acquired the licenses necessary for becoming a Distilled Spirits Importer as well as a Distilled Spirits Wholesaler, elevating the young company to ambitious new heights.

The new warehouse features a staggering 153,868 square feet of space and is the perfect location for Heather to take her business to the next level. Already sold in Connecticut, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Montana, this new venture is guaranteed to make Salt Point a must-have for parties across the nation.

No word has been given on how long this expansion should take, but cocktail fans who can’t wait are strongly encouraged to try Salt Point’s recently released fourth flavor, Margarita. Be sure to drink responsibly though, as one can contains 10% alcohol by volume, equivalent to two standard ready-to-drink cocktails.
