A brand new liquor store is coming to 2301 Van Ness Avenue called Punj Liquor.
Owned by Vikrant Punj, the new liquor store will be replacing Van Ness & Vallejo Market, which occupied the space for over a decade.
Vikrant, who is also the owner of American Indian Cuisine, is currently in the process of completely remodeling the location. He’s currently installing new signs and windows and intends to provide his store with a cleaner, more modern aesthetic. He’ll also be serving light snacks to compliment his selection of fine wines and liquors.
One thing that separates Vikrant from the competition is his dedication to affordability. In an era where more and more people are paying premiums to have wine delivered directly to their house, Punj Liquors will be a welcome alternative for savvy customers who don’t want to overpay for the exact same brand.
In fact, Vikrant promises to offer the cheapest wines and liquors in San Francisco. He plans on sourcing his liquor from Total Wine, which Vikrant claims is the most affordable wine and liquor distributor in the region. He even intends to offer better deals than can be found buying bulk at Costco.
For the time being, Vikrant is finishing up renovating his store, but as soon as he’s ready he will open. He is tentatively planning for a September launch, though delays on the renovations could affect those plans.
