Sausalito’s Fast Food Français unfortunately closed earlier this month but that’s because the owners are ready to bring something new to their tables. Introducing Zalta – a new Mediterranean concept that is opening this Friday at 39 Caledonia St. Owners Olivier and Susanna Soulvestre have confirmed their restaurant’s rebranding but could not be reached for comment.
Expect all the delicious and fresh flavors that F3 served up, except reimagined with Mediterranean flair. Nosh on “Mezze” menu items such as Ahi Tuna Bites with a Niçoise tapenade or French-Cut Lamb Chops with fresh green zhug, a type of hot sauce originated in Yemeni cuisine.
Zalta will also feature Pinsa Romana, pizza-like dishes made with a hand-pressed crust comprised of wheat, rice, and soy flours. The Merguez Pinsa will feature lamb, feta, and tahini as toppings, while the Porchetta Pinsa includes delectable bites of porchetta and fontina cheese.
The restaurant formerly known as F3 has been renovated into a Mediterranean escape, complete with aqua blue tiles and woven grass accents throughout the space. There will be a full bar and several libations on tap. Reservations are currently being accepted ahead of their grand opening.
