The Alley is a possible new business coming to the southeast end of the UC Berkeley campus. According to recent real estate intel, The Alley is a “best in class” boba brand from Taiwan that will move into 2315 Bancroft Way at The Granada

Known for their freshly brewed tea and handcrafted Deerioca (their in-house term for tapioca), The Alley serves high-quality drinks in a variety of delectable flavors. From Ube Creme Brûlée Brown Sugar to Snow Velvet Peach Oolong Tea, there is a tea drink on the menu to suit anyone’s taste.

With over 400 locations worldwide, The Alley has two locations in Southern California, plus outposts in Hawaii and Las Vegas. There is also a confirmed upcoming location in Texas, according to their website. Representatives for The Alley declined to comment on these rumored plans for Berkeley.

That said, if the rumors are true, we can expect The Alley in Berkeley to open in mid to late 2022, as a shell space will need to be built out. The landlord for the space was represented by John Polyzoides and Jamie Flaherty-Evans of Neyborly, Inc. For more information about The Alley, check out their Facebook and Instagram pages.
