Back to Back is taking over the former Venticello Ristorante space at 1257 Taylor St. on Nob Hill, Tablehopper reported first. The concept is brought to us by siblings Monica and Randall Hom, who are combining their passions for music, pizza, natural wine, and dining out into a new restaurant set to open late this summer.
The Homs were born and raised in San Francisco and their family actually owns the building that Back to Back will call home. After successfully pursuing respective careers in the art word and in tech, Monica and Randall have returned from New York to their native Bay Area to bring this new project to fruition.
Back to Back will serve pizza and natural wines. Inspired by Naples, the restaurant’s menu will be centered around a wood-fired oven. The name Back to Back is an homage to the back-to-back DJs at “hi-fi listening bars they’ve enjoyed in Paris, New York, and Bar Shiru here in Oakland,” according to Tablehopper.
That said, Back to Back will play vinyl and feature a wall of records in what will become a modern, wood-forward community space and date spot. Over the next several months, there are plenty of renovations to be had and in the meantime, they are already hiring through their website.
