A new eatery, Kuriya Japanese Kitchen, is coming to Albany, according to a recent beer and wine license application.

The business will take over a space at 809 San Pablo Avenue, the former home of Chinese restaurant The Pearl House, near establishments such as Aangan, Juanita & Maude, and White Lotus Thai Cuisine.

What Now San Francisco reached out to Kuriya’s owner, Xinlong Liang, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

While it’s unclear what the restaurant’s specialty will be, based on its name, it’s likely that Kuriya will serve an assortment of sushi, ramen, and tempura.

Based on the recent filing, it’s also safe to assume that sake will be on the menu.

Stay tuned for additional updates.
