Well-known North Beach pizzeria Golden Boy Pizza plans to debut a new location in San Francisco’s westside, according to SF Eater.

Coming to 1447 Taraval Street — taking over a spot formerly home to Marco Polo Italian Ice Cream — the eatery will land near establishments such as El Cafe, Lou’s Cafe, and STIX.

For readers unfamiliar with Golden Boy, “the famous North Beach pizzeria first opened its doors in 1978 and serves a unique style of pizza that puts a California spin on thick Sicilian-style pies,” Eater reports.

The restaurant’s minimal menu contains only six types of pizza — cheese, clam & garlic pie, combo, pepperoni, pesto, sausage, and vegetable — that can be ordered whole or by the slice.

What Now San Francisco reached out to the concept’s owner, Peter Sodini, to inquire about the upcoming outpost, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Taraval Street location will open in mid-March.
