A new Rock and Roll Sushi will be opening later this summer in Cypress. The new restaurant will be located at 12361 Barker Cypress Rd Suite 900. “We’re pretty far along in the process,” location owner Glen Stroud told What Now Houston. “We just have décor work to do still, but its coming along good.”
As could be expected with a name like “Rock and Roll,” the sushi chain likes to get creative with its entrees. The VIP Roll, the British Invasion Roll, and the Punk Rock Roll are just a few examples of what diners can expect.
“We have some very good sushi,” Stroud said. “Also, we do hibachi, but we do it in the kitchen, we don’t do it at the table. So, you can order shrimp hibachi, chicken fillet, mixed vegetables, fried rice with it, and we have good appetizers.” Stroud also emphasized that not all the sushi is raw. “We also have fried rolls as well, so it’s a little bit more of an Americanized version of sushi. But for the real sushi lovers, we still have the raw and everything you would expect.”
The chain first opened in Mobile, AL in 2010. They have since grown to cover multiple states across the south east and have new locations opening soon in other parts of the U.S. This will be Stroud’s second Rock and Roll Sushi location in the Greater Houston area. He opened his first location in Spring four years ago. “As of July, it’ll be four years that it’s been open,” Stroud said. “It’s been very, very good.”
