The much-anticipated new entryway being built at Caesars Palace was announced early last summer, with construction expected to continue throughout 2021 and reach its climax around January 2022.

It was known then that the remodel would include an ornate new entrance with an impressive dome and barreled ceiling over an impressive statue of Augustus Caesar, remodeled gaming areas—including two new state-of-the-art gaming pits and a remodel of the legendary domed tables floor—and a new lobby bar. Building permit paperwork submitted to Clark County yesterday provides some early details about the lobby bar build.

Construction on the new lobby bar, in a space adjacent to the registration lobby, will include “new walls, ceilings, finishes, and equipment.” The estimated budget for construction on this project—fitting for a resort of legendary extravagance—is $3 million.

“Caesars Palace brought a sense of grandeur to the Las Vegas Strip when it was built in 1966, and we’re proud to continue that legacy with a full reimagining of our main entrance,” Caesars Entertainment Regional President Sean McBurney said at the time in a press release.

The new entrance, gaming areas, and lobby bar are only the beginning of the upgrades debuting at Caesars Palace this year, which also include the expected summer opening of Dominique Ansel Las Vegas, as well as the once-in-a-lifetime arrival of legendary New York steakhouse Peter Luger, expected toward the end of this year.
