The owner behind the Downtown Las Vegas plant-based restaurant, VegeNation, has a new concept on his plate. Chef Donald Lemperle has been hosting Contrapunto pop-up events at the Vegas Test Kitchen.

The concept has been popular, and Lemperle is contemplating opening Contrapunto as a brick-and-mortar location, according to an article in Las Vegas Weekly.

The pop-up events have offered menus that include lasagna and portobellow muschroom noodle soup. Souffle cake with a marshmallow center, graham cracker streusel, and chocolate ice cream was a dessert offering.

Lemperle has more than 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry. After being diagnosed with a form of bone marrow cancer in 2005, he decided to start a plant-based diet. According to the VegeNation website, Lemperle began to focus on a mission to serve fresh, plant-based foods to his clients.

Lemperle did not respond to What Now Vegas’ request for more information on when or where Contrapunto could open at a permanent location. You can check out VegeNation’s Facebook page for information on future Contrapunto pop-up events at the Vegas Test Kitchen at 1020 E. Fremont St., #120.
