According to a recent article from Oregon Live, Salt and Straw will be opening another location in Vancouver at 740 Waterfront Way.

A representative of Salt and Straw was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Portland’s request.

While an official opening date has yet to be confirmed, according to the article, this will be Salt and Straw’s 25th location.

Founded by Kim Malek and her cousin Tyler, the journey to create Salt & Straw began with a dream of building a neighborhood gathering place that would bring people together and create moments of joy and connection. The creation of Salt & Straw is described as a collaborative effort that involved seeking advice and inspiration from friends, chefs, chocolatiers, brewers, and farmers in their community.

The only challenge was that neither Kim nor her cousin Tyler had ever made ice cream before. But that didn’t deter them. Tyler purchased four used ice cream makers for just $16 and set out on a remarkable journey of experimentation. Hours were spent in Kim’s basement, testing flavor ideas and crafting what would become Salt & Straw’s signature creations.

They start with cream from a fifth-generation, family-owned dairy, ensuring the cows are well-cared for and never given growth hormones or antibiotics. They state that they meticulously churn their ice cream to achieve a luxurious texture, and they’re continuously inspired by unique and intriguing ingredients, according to the company website.
