According to a recent article from the Portland Eater, Stacked Sandwich Shop will close and rebrand as Tip Top Burger Shop, located at 2175 NW Raleigh St.

A representative of Stacked Sandwich Shop and Tip Top Burger Shop was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Portland’s request.

According to the article, “It’s unclear when Stacked will close and when Tip Top will open, so those seeking a smoked turkey hero or an oxtail French dip should do so sooner rather than later.”

Stacked and Tip Top come from Top Chef alumnus Gabriel Pascuzzi, who stated in a few Instagram stories that the sandwich shop didn’t have enough business to sustain itself. “Thus, Pascuzzi will replace the sandwich shop with Tip Top Burger Shop, a burger joint using Northwest-raised beef and Grand Central Bakery buns,” the article also mentions.

In another article from the Portland Eater written in February of this year, they state “The restaurant, once named one of the best sandwich shops in America by Thrillist, opened in 2017 in Central Eastside. The Eater Award-winning chef’s shop developed acclaim thanks to sandwiches like its house-smoked turkey hero and oxtail French dip.”

Stacked Sandwich Shop, which closed in December 2021, then reopened in a shared space in February of this year in Slabtown.

Tip Top’s Instagram biography section describes itself as having burgers and sides, including turkey and veggie patty options for customers to enjoy.
