According to recent reporting, downtown Troy will soon have a new spot featuring bottled beers, wines, craft cocktails and small plates, when Cherry Street Bottle Shop opens at 12 N Cherry St. The establishment is owned and operated by Carly Witmer and Sara Studebaker, the duo behind Craft Event Bar Collective, an events based business that provides custom bar and DJ services at private celebrations.
Having honed their skills at over 400 private events over the course of seven years, the business partners started looking at spaces where they could continue to elevate their bar services and have room for larger equipment, like a commercial juicer. When Studebaker and Witmer found the Cherry Street location, they decided to shift their business plans to include a new concept.
When Cherry Street Bottle Shop opens in late October, guests can expect to find a boutique selection of bottled beers and wines, along with craft cocktails and grazing boards. The beer and wine selections will be from breweries and wineries located across the U.S., with many offerings rotating seasonally. And if guests want to sample different styles of beer or wine, Studebaker and Witmer plan to offer monthly tasting events.
The cocktail menu will be based on recipes that have been perfected through their private event experiences and will include classics such as margaritas, available with the addition of fresh fruit syrups, three versions of an old fashioned, mules made with vodka or bourbon, tom collins and cosmopolitans made with cranberry or pomegranate juice, as well as a cocktail made with rum and house-made orange soda.
Additionally, the grazing boards will feature meats, cheeses and other charcuterie type items and can be customized to complement the beer, wine or cocktail that a guest orders.
