The international seafood chain The Boiling Crab will soon be making its debut in Austin, according to a recent filing with the State of Texas. The restaurant will be located within The Linc shopping center at 6406 Interstate 35 (Suite 2375), near other restaurants such as Plucker’s Wing Bar and Vivo. Given the restaurant’s estimated $1.5 million dollar construction cost, future patrons can expect a significant development.
Founded in coastal Texas in 2004, The Boiling Crab offers a base selection of boiled seafood such as crab, lobster, shrimp, crawfish, oyster, clams, and mussels, and then gives the customer the option to season it with four different types of spice mixes, at varying degrees of heat levels. The menu is specifically designed for large groups who may share the boils.
Since its birth almost twenty years ago, the chain has opened locations in major US cities such as San Diego, Los Angeles, Miami, DC, Las Vegas, and two international locations—Melbourne, Australia and Shanghai, China.
What Now Austin briefly reached out to Maria Stonehouse, Director of Design & Development, to inquire about other pertinent information about the upcoming location, but she did not provide comment.
Until the Austin location opens its doors, curious seafood fans can visit the two Texas locations in Plano and Dallas.
