Outback Steakhouse, the popular Australian-inspired chain, will soon be opening a location in Round Rock, according to public records. The restaurant will be located at 4151 N I-35, near Mimi’s Cafe and Chick-Fil-A.
Those unfamiliar with Outback can imagine it much like similar roadhouse-style sit down restaurants across the United States, featuring a menu heavily based on steak and other meat cuts and a wide variety of appetizers—most notably, Outback’s favorite Bloomin’ Onion.
The public records in question suggest that the development will be significant, stating that construction will begin from the “ground-up” and involve civil engineering, building, structural planning, plumbing, along with mechanical and electrical construction.
What Now Austin reached out to contacts at Bloomin’ Brands, the company in charge of this particular location, but they were not immediately available for comment.
Fortunately, public records illuminate key information: a $1.8 million price tag, a construction period spanning from mid-2023 to end of q1 2024, and an impressive 5000 square foot total restaurant space. Given these details, readers can reasonably expect the Outback in Round Rock to be up and running by end of spring 2024.
