H Mart, the growing Korean mega-store and food court, will soon be opening a significant 23,000 square foot establishment at 5222 Burnet Road in the Allandale neighborhood of Austin, according to recent reports in both Eater and Austin Business Journal

The Business Journal reports that company representatives do not anticipate an opening until spring 2024, but the exact date will ultimately be determined by the upcoming permitting process and “other factors.”

While no details are yet available regarding the upcoming food court’s lineup, readers can reasonably model expectations off H Mart’s other location in Lakeline, which features a variety of Korean cuisine fast casual outposts such as Oh-K Dog, So Gong Dong Tofu House, Momo Sushi, Paik’s Noodle, and others.

The report adds a notable fact, relevant for both readers and potential partners: “In 2020, the company ranked No. 74 on the National Retail Federation’s Hot 100 ranking of the fastest-growing retailers, with 2019 retail sales of $992 million, up 3% from 2018.”

What Now Austin reached out to Vince Colatriano, Executive VP, to inquire further detail about the upcoming location, but he did not respond to questions by time of publication.
