The growing Indian café chain Pastries N Chaat will soon make its debut in Cedar Park, according to recent public records. The eatery will be located at 13920 Ronald Reagan Blvd, near establishments such as The Toasted Yolk and Charminar Xpress.

“We’re still in the very preliminary stages,” franchisee Abdul Jeelani tells What Now Austin. “I think it will take some time for us to set up the area. We have to do construction and build out from the beginning.”

With only three stores in existence, two in Arizona and one an hour south of Austin, in San Antonio, the concept is sure to be a unique new presence in the local food scene. Defining its concept on the company website, Pastries N Chaat states:

“At Pastries N Chaat we are committed to evoke nostalgia…Remember the time in India when you went to the closest chaat corner with friends and family to enjoy a platter of savory chaat items sharing evening laughter and bonding!”

“The spicy pani puri, the toasty smell of roasted peanuts, the crunchy sprinkle of sev, the tangy-sweet chutneys, the vada pav with fried green chilly and samosas on a rainy day accompanied by steamy hot masala chai…They all have been an integral part of the Indian food fetish.”

Until Mr. Jeelani’s Cedar Park store eventually opens, curious readers may visit the San Antonio location at 10222 Huebner Rd.
