According to a recent report in Eater, Hyde Park’s notable cheese shop Antonelli’s will be opening a new location and new tasting room within the Lamar Union complex at 1100 South Lamar Boulevard, Suite 1130 in the Zilker neighborhood. Projections point to a February or March 2024 opening.
The report states that Antonelli’s will “serve as a pickup point for preordered cheese trays” along with hosting cheese & wine tastings, classes, pop-up collaborations, and private event bookings.
This news comes after co-owners Kendall and John Antonelli announced their South Austin expansion plans in August 2023.
“They wanted to have a second location to serve as a go-to hub for South Austinites, and had created a survey to get feedback on ideal addresses,” Eater reports. “When they signed the lease for South Lamar in early November, they organized a free-cheese scavenger hunt so that people could find out the address.”
No exact opening date has been announced.
