Gelaterie La Carraia is slated to open a second location serving its signature milk-and-fruit-based gelato in the O Town Center development in the Spring of 2022.
Owner Rami Ajib opened an initial location at The Marketplace at Dr. Phillips with plans to franchise Gelaterie La Carraia. However, the pandemic put those plans on hold, and the business is now a separate entity from its brother company in Italy.
The concept for Gelaterie La Carraia came from a trip that Ajib took to Florence, where he experienced first-hand the rich creaminess of authentic Italian gelato. Made with no hydrogenated fats and seasonal fruits, the formula for Gelaterie’s gelato still comes straight from Italy.
Their milk-based ice cream is made from milk, cream and sugar, resulting in a creamy, compact product, while the fruit-based ice cream uses fresh or frozen fruits without milk derivatives and the need for pasteurization.
The 1,200-square-foot store will also offer whole ice cream cakes made with Gelaterie La Carraia’s gelato, and will sit at the intersection of Daryl Carter Boulevard and Apopka Vineland Road. It will open alongside MOOYAH Burgers and Fries and Reels Bowls, among other eateries.
