Look out Orlando, you’re about to be served a serious helping of Bojangles chicken. After leaving the area six years ago, Bojangles is making a spectacular return to the Orlando market. Chaac Foods recently entered an agreement to open 40 Bojangles stores, with 15 of those stores opening in Orlando.
In a press release, Bojangles called it a 40 and 40 deal, meaning Chaac Foods will open 40 new stores in the next seven years while also acquiring 40 existing corporate-owned Bojangles stores.
Chaac Foods is a restaurant group that’s been in operation since 2006. The group is based in Irving, TX and now owns over 160 restaurants. Brands like Pizza Hut, Cru Food & Wine Bar, Ling & Louie’s, Applebee’s, and Panda Express in multiple states comprise some of those 160.
“We are thrilled to join forces with the accomplished team at Chaac Foods,” Jose Costa, Bojangles chief development officer said in a press release. “The company’s caliber of operations is well-recognized, and to have a partner with that pedigree invest in Bojangles speaks volumes about our brand and our growth plans for the future.”
No word yet on when Orlandoans will no longer have to drive the long miles to Ocala to get their fill of chicken and waffles. COO of Chaac Foods Michele Turner could not be reached for comment at the time of publication. That said, the menu is certainly worth looking at, even if it makes your mouth water.
