Well, an oasis for dogs and booze enthusiasts alike is a step closer to opening, according to a report from the Orlando Business Journal. The hybrid dog park and public house Pups Pub is gearing up to open their doors in Downtown next month.

The Tampa-based concept coming full tilt with a stocked bar and puns, which shows how well they know the taste of their audience: young people with dogs, and a taste for alcohol and easy jokes. They are planning to open at 317 N Orange Ave.

Back when we first reported on the concept’s plans, they were projecting a March 2022 opening. However, now that March and has come and gone, the brand has set a new opening date: Friday, June 24, 2022.

The concept allows for dog owners to stop in with their pups, socialize and have a drink at their full bar. There are, however, requirements surrounding the dog’s vaccination status, and if they are of a certain age, they must be spayed or neutered.

Co-founder and CEO of Pups Pub Company Alex Wright told the Orlando Business Journal why Downtown Orlando is looking promising for the new concept: “We’re within two blocks of over 3,200 apartments — all dog-friendly — and on top of that, they’re developing more. Within a half-mile, you’re looking at 10,000 dog-friendly units.”
