Cafe La Tasca, a locally owned and operated cafe, will soon be opening in Orlando.
The restaurant will be located within the Metro West Village at 2459 Hiwassee Road, joining a colorful array of local and chain eateries such as Keke’s Breakfast Cafe, Habibi Lebanese Grill, and 4C Creamery.
While What Now Orlando was able to briefly contact owner George Maldonado and confirm basic details about the upcoming eatery, he, unfortunately, chose not to provide information about the menu or prospective opening dates.
Given the strip-mall location, readers can reasonably expect a cozy, indoor-only dining experience. The word “Tasca” in both Portuguese and Spanish refers to a low-cost restaurant and/or tavern and considering the profile of neighboring establishments, readers could also expect a no-frills dining experience that could draw from Latin America and Southern Europe as inspiration.
Despite the abundance of mystery and lack of social media, one statement online illuminates the cryptic restaurant’s concept: “Whether you are coming in for a haircut or to get your hair done, come enjoy our imported Iberian delicatessens with a cold beer or a glass of chilled wine in a relaxed welcoming environment.”
