Piyarat Potha Arreeratn, who is known as Chef Bee, is planning an ambitious concept that will utilize NFT’s for generating funding. Chef Bee spoke with What Now Miami on Wednesday to confirm details. The restaurant will feature three separate experiences: a Thai restaurant, a private omakase dining room, and a café and computer lab where guests can learn about the intricacies of virtual currencies, blockchain and NFT’s.
The concept is to be called Piya, and Chef Bee is also partnering with businessman Simon Librati to bring the restaurant to fruition. It all began when Librati met with Chef Bee to discuss the possibility of opening a restaurant in which people could dine and also be educated about the emerging sphere of virtual currencies. The pair concluded to also launch an NFT project to help fund the forthcoming restaurant.
According to Librati, the project will feature tiered memberships that will yield advantages in the crypto communities and in the restaurant.
A virtual rendition of Piya will soon be launched in which people can purchase the NFT’s and tour the virtual restaurant that will eventually appear in the South of 5th district of Miami. By Librati and Chef Bee’s estimates, the physical restaurant will open in 12-14 months, but the virtual experience will hopefully be available by the end of this month.
According to a report in the Miami New Times, Chef Bee and Librati are seeking to make the process of purchasing their NFTs as simple as possible. You won’t need to use a crypto wallet to buy the Piya NFT’s, which is standard for most digital currency and token purchases. Users will be able to buy the tokens from the website and virtual restaurant with their credit cards, the report says.
