Happea’s, a known plant-based concept in the area, is opening another outfit in Brickell. What Now found a recent plan review filing with the DBPR for the forthcoming location at 1250 S Miami Avenue. Co-owners Danny Omari and Eduardo Weinberg on Tuesday confirmed the information in the filing.

The team has not started construction on the space and are waiting for their landlord to complete some work on the property before beginning. However, Omari estimates that their build-out won’t take long, and that they could open as early as late April or early May. On their website, the Brickell location is denoted with “Coming soon!”

The brand ran an outpost only a few blocks away in the Mary Brickell Village, under the LA Fitness, but they have closed this location down.

There is a Happea’s unit in Aventura, and it currently operates as a ghost kitchen, serving only take-out with restricted hours, which will soon be expanded.

The brand has a storied history which began with a commitment to offer dishes that still bear the rich flavors of an omnivorous cuisine while serving strictly plant-based food. Their first location was in Hollywood in 2019, but once the pandemic struck, they closed down. Shortly thereafter, they reopened in Mary Brickell Village for a year before shutting the doors to prepare for their forthcoming Brickell location.
