With two seasoned locations in Wynwood and Coconut Grove, Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop is preparing to offer its selection of pies, cakes, savories, and other baked goods in its third bake shop, this time in Fort Lauderdale.

Behind the brand is former Miami firefighter and “Don of Dessert” Derek Kaplan. In the brand’s two current locations, Kaplan and his team have been offering guests tasty baked goods in a laid back, artsy setting (befitting its origin in Wynwood’s flagship location). True to theme, the new location will feature Instagram-worthy décor, including neon signage and pie-themed murals.

Guests looking for a good old-fashioned pie will be happy to find familiar varieties like Apple, Key Lime, and Pecan alongside wilder varieties like the salty-sweet Cookie Monster, a cheesecake-based pie with a chocolate chip crust and a layer of crushed Oreo cookies. A selection of cheesecakes are also available in varieties like Cookies & Cream, New York Style, and Nutella.

On the Hot & Savory side, you can find the classic Chicken Pot Pie or a Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese Pot Pie, plus empanada varieties like Spinach & Feta and Beef.

Keep an eye out for this home-grown Miami brand making its Broward County debut soon with its selection of Fireman Derek’s tasty baked goods. The new bake shop will open this month.
