Between Southwest Second Street and the New River, a New Jersey-born taphouse and gastropub is preparing to make its South Florida debut. Asbury Ale House will expand to its second location, opening its doors next to the Wharf Fort Lauderdale, at 300 SW First Ave.

Asbury Ale House is owned and operated by Matthew Gullace. Its food menu features Signature Bites like “BuffAAHlo” Chicken Eggrolls, Mac & Cheese Bites, and Ale House Tenders, along with seven different burgers, including the SoCal Turkey Burger and the Whiskey BBQ Burger, with Monterey Cheddar Jack cheese, crispy shallots, whiskey barbecue sauce, and sautéed mushrooms.

Entrees include Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese; Baked Salmon with capers, labneh za’atar, and everything seasoning; and Drunken Chicken. The original location in New Jersey also offers a capacious brunch menu and a Dog Menu for your best friend. It’s unknown to what extent the Fort Lauderdale menu will reflect that of the original location, but we do expect, as the Asbury Ale House website puts it, “a fresh, vibrant, fun atmosphere and eccentric vibe that makes you want to visit more and more.”

Opening next to the Wharf, Asbury Ale House will join a developed food and drink community that includes eateries like Big Buns Damn Good Burgers, Matchbox, Sushi Sake Las Olas, and Rivertail.
