The first official Juici Patties store opened in May Pen, Jamaica in 1980. Since then, the patty chain has grown to more than 60 locations on the island, plus international locations throughout the Caribbean and in the U.K. According to juicipattiesfranchising.com, the chain has launched franchising opportunities in South Florida as well.
One of the first appears to be planned for Lauderhill. Plan review paperwork was submitted recently by Grey Pendulum LLC for “Juici Patties” at 5419 N University Drive.
Behind Grey Pendulum LLC are owners Jamikeel Douglas and Khadejah Davis. What Now contacted Douglas on Thursday to inquire about plans for a Lauderhill Juici Patties location. Douglas declined to comment at this time.
The chain’s famous patties come in varieties like Chicken, Shrimp, Beef, Vegetable, and Ackee. The menu also features Loaves stuffed with beef, vegetables, or Callaloo (leafy green amaranth with onion, garlic, tomatoes, thyme, and hot peppers). Also on offer are Fried Chicken & Chips, Ackee & Saltfish, and, for dessert, banana bread and carrot cake.
Opening in a small retail center on North University Drive, not far south of the intersection with Commercial Boulevard, Juici Patties would join a developed food and beverage community that includes Jersey Mike’s Subs, The Port of Peri Peri, and Arun’s Indian Kitchen / Taco Masala.
