A new concept is bringing a taste of Tel Aviv to Miami Beach.
Aviv is slated to open at 1 Hotel South Beach at 2341 Collins Avenue this fall. The concept is a new venture from Israeli-born chef Michael Solomonov and restaurateur Steve Cook, co-owners of the Philadelphia-based hospitality group CookNSolo Restaurants.
Their portfolio of businesses includes a popular Israeli restaurant in Philadelphia called Zahav; the donut, fried chicken, and coffee shop Federal Donuts; authentic hummusiya Dizengoff; contemporary Jewish cuisine eatery Abe Fisher; vegan falafel shop Goldie; pita sandwich shop and café Merkaz; Israeli bakery & café K’Far; and Israeli skewer house Laser Wolf. In addition to operating their numerous concepts, Solomonov and Cook have also authored several cookbooks.
Aviv is named for the Hebrew word for “spring.” It is slated to open at the hotel this fall. Expect kebabs, Yemenite flatbread and Solomonov’s freshly crafted hummus.
“Aviv will offer a dynamic dining experience that blends ancient cooking techniques with the vibrant, modern atmospheres of Miami and Tel Aviv,” according to the website.
