Unos Tacos Y Birria, the Phoenix-fav (seriously— the taco joint has an impressive following for just the one location), announced in January it’s plans to expand to Mesa. And the crowd went wild.
Since January, however, the crowd has been growing restless, wondering when on earth the new taqueria will be up and serving their favorite birria burritos, tostadas, and quesotacos a little closer to home. What Now Phoenix is pleased to report the restaurant recently filed a permit application for 1859 S Stapley Drive, STE 106, in Mesa.
If you aren’t yet an Unos Tacos Y Birria devotee, a glance at their social media and menu might be just the thing needed to convert you. The taqueria serves up tacos (your choice of corn or flour) with fillings like asada, al pastor, cabeza, and, of course, birria res. But they don’t stop there. Their ‘Vampiro’ is a grilled tostado with your choice of filling, or you can skip the decision making altogether and just enjoy their ‘Orden De Birria,’ or birria stew, which comes with tortillas, cilantro, and onions.
The Mesa brick-and-mortar will sit near the intersection of E Baseline Road and S Stapley Drive, adjacent to the Mesa Grand Shopping Center. We were unable to contact the owner at the time of publication, but Unos Tacos Y Birria is currently hiring for the Mesa location. How about a summer job with some serious perks?
