Infusion Coffee & Tea Crafters is planning a third location at 13212 N. Cave Creek Road in northern Phoenix, according to a recent building permit found in city public records. Owner Patrick O’Malley tells What Now Phoenix that this latest location has been in the works for over a year now, and will hopefully come to fruition at some point this spring.
Infusion’s third location will be the brand’s first specialty drive-thru coffee shop of its kind, and will also feature walk-up service with indoor and outdoor seating. They will serve their whole drink menu, including their “mocktail” inspired drinks such as the Bees Knees, a cold-brew concoction with lemon and honey. They will also have the delicious breakfast sandwiches and pastries on offer at their current locations.
O’Malley realized his passion for coffee in the late ‘80s, when he worked at a deli and cafe in Maui and was asked to repair an espresso machine. After quitting his job as a barman, he returned to Arizona and started a company selling and repairing espresso machines.
Throughout the ‘90s, he embarked on a new adventure in the wholesale and distribution of fine coffee and teas, starting a company called Espresso Italia. Over the years, he has focused on the art of coffee roasting, earning a diploma from the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe.
With his expertise, he founded the International Barista & Coffee Academy (IBCA) in 2012, which is now one of 31 certified coffee labs in the world. In collaboration with IBCA, O’Malley opened the first Infusion Coffee & Tea Crafters in 2015 in Tempe, with the hopes of allowing guests to experience high-quality coffee and tea just how they like it.
The success of the first shop led to the opening of their second at the Queen Creek Olive Mill, and it’s no surprise that they are well on the way to opening a third. For more information, visit www.infusioncoffeetea.com and follow them on Facebook or Instagram.
