The Mixologer, a Scottsdale-based e-commerce site specializing in home delivery cocktail kits, is possibly opening a brick-and-mortar. The state of Arizona recently issued the company a liquor license to operate at 1014 N. 2nd St. in downtown Phoenix. What’s more, the record indicates that this is a “Restaurant” type license.

Could this be an offshoot restaurant for The Mixologer? A brick-and-mortar storefront for their kits that will also include a bar where you can try some of their best concoctions? Founder Justin Keller has been contacted but hasn’t returned requests for comment at the time of publication. He started The Mixologer after noticing the “expensive wastefulness” that comes with wanting to enjoy one or two cocktails at a time.

“You’re required to purchase ingredients capable of making upwards of 12-15. Whole bottles of mixers. An entire jar of maraschino cherries. Fresh fruit and garnishes with a limited shelf life. Sure, the leftover supply is nice to have on-hand. But if you don’t use it in a timely fashion—especially the fruit—your stock will just sit on the bar, collecting dust and slowly expiring. It’s a waste of materials. And money,” Keller notes on The Mixologer’s website.

The solution was to create portioned mixology kits that will provide customers with just the right amount of high-quality ingredients to make the perfect cocktail. To date, the company has delivered upwards of 150,000 cocktails to customers across the country. It would be exciting if indeed they are due to open a storefront.

If we gain more information, we will be sure to post an update. In the meantime, check out themixologer.com.
