Flower Child, the healthy restaurant chain from Fox Restaurant Concepts, is opening a new Tempe location near University Drive and Rural Road.
The company’s eighth Arizona site is one of three restaurants from the group coming to the new 275,000-square-foot shopping, dining, and entertainment district called The Novus Innovation Corridor, according to Phoenix Business Journal. The restaurants, along with Blanco Taco Cocina + Cantina and North Italia, are expected to obtain permits in the fall, hoping to break ground by year-end, according to Charley Freericks, senior vice president of Novus’ master developer, Catellus Development Corp.
All three standalone Fox Restaurant Concepts are expected to open near the Arizona State University campus in the second half of 2024. Another aspect of this new development is The Novus Place, which includes a 318-unit apartment complex called The Piedmont, a 260-key, dual-branded Hyatt House and Hyatt Place, and a 160,000-square-foot office building called 777 Tower, according to the Business Journal. A new 160,000-square-foot office building called 700 Novus Place is also ready to be built and waiting on a tenant to commit to a large portion of the building.
“We’ve got an office, a hotel, this great restaurant news, and we’re going to have a park. It’s a nice composition all coming together,” Freericks tells the Business Journal. “We’ve got residents, employers, and all these activities, but what we don’t have yet is sort of the fun factor. We got the Mullett Arena open now, but we don’t have a place where you can come down and get breakfast, lunch, and dinner and hang out after an event.”
When the new Flower Child opens, customers can expect fresh meals made from scratch, using fresh ingredients. The restaurant’s menu has something for everyone and proudly offers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets. Some menu items include soups, salads, bowls, and wraps. Flower Child has 31 locations in 11 states at the moment.
