Smash burgers concept Bad Jimmy’s is opening inside of the former Jamaican restaurant The Breadfruit & Rum Bar in downtown Phoenix.

Owned by James Piazza, Bad Jimmy’s has built a reputation as a regular pop-up outside of Cobra Arcade Bar, and will now be located at 108 E. Pierce Street.

Piazza previously was a chef at Southwestern restaurant Valentines, and started Bad Jimmy’s as a product of the pandemic.

According to their Instagram, menu highlights include burgers like Cheeseburger In Paradise, which is a double patty, American cheese, shaved red onion, lettuce, pickles, and not so secret sauce on a butter toasted brioche bun. Another offering is called the Western Burger: a double patty, onion rings, BBQ sauce, hickory smoked bacon, American cheese, and pickles. They’ve also featured specials as well, such as a Hatch Chile Burger with a double patty, Oaxacan cheese, griddled onion, pickles, and mayo.

There are not currently further details about a set opening date, and Piazza did not immediately reply to What Now Phoenix for comment.
