Husband and wife entrepreneurs Brian and Jessica Nelson are opening Phoenix’s first Zaxby’s franchise, according to QSR Magazine.

After signing a multi-unit deal with the chicken chain, the first-time franchise operators will be opening multiple locations throughout the Phoenix territory in the next five years. Under the current plans, the first location is intended to open in fall 2024.

Originally founded in 1990 in Georgia, the fast-casual restaurant offers a variety of chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches, and salads – as well as their special Zax sauce – in more than 900 locations across the United States. Other menu highlights include their bacon ranch loaded fries, fried pickles, and funnel cakes.

Exact locations have yet to be released, and the Nelsons did not immediately reply for comment to What Now Phoenix.
