A brand new brewery, called Formation Brewing, is getting ready to make its debut in Downtown Phoenix at 925 N 5th St.
This new concept is the latest from Patrick Crawford and Charles Berger, the founders of Denver Beer Company. The duo recently submitted a liquor license application to open on the southeast corner of Roosevelt and Fifth Streets, near Taco Chelo and Full Speed Chicken & Ribs. The new brewery is scheduled to open before the end of the year and will feature a 19-tank brewhouse, a full kitchen, a 110-seat dining area, and a patio. Plans also show a second story with its own bar and space for about 100 guests.
Phoenix residents should be excited about this new venture, considering Denver Brewing Company is one of Colorado’s most prominent and well-rounded breweries, now with five taprooms and restaurants in the Denver metro area. On top of offering delicious craft beer, DBC is known as one of the first small-scale breweries to implement CO2 capture technology, which captures and stores excess carbon dioxide produced during the beer fermentation process for reuse.
Denver Beer Co. is also a proud recipient of The Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) Award, a statewide program that recognizes and awards organizations in Colorado that go beyond compliance with environmental regulations by advancing sustainability in the state. Finally, the company uses a Canworks production facility, which is run on 100% solar power, and each can, bottle, and keg is produced with 100% clean energy. These innovations are expected to be implemented to an extent with this new Formation Brewing concept.
