A planned restaurant in Baton Rouge is set to take over a former Walgreens, according to a rezoning application filed with the city’s planning commission. The business owner is requesting a rezoning for a restaurant serving alcohol at 2159 Staring Lane, and renovation work is set to commence through local company Beyond Realty Builder. What Now New Orleans was able to contact the owner but was unable to get additional details. The Baton Rouge Planning Commission is scheduled to take up the rezoning application at its June 17 meeting.

Located in at the corner of Staring Lane and Perkins Road, the conversion of a former Walgreens into a new restaurant would add one more option to an area that already has several great restaurants, including SoLou, Brasas Peru, Blue Corn Mexican, and Ichiban Sushi Bar & Grill.
