Construction on The Dale, a mixed-use project in Avondale Estates, is expected to begin this winter.

The 24,000-square-foot project involves the redevelopment of the Town Green into a park with restaurants, retail and plenty of outdoor seating. The two-acre park is already complete, and the commercial aspect is the next phase.

There will be two buildings on North Avondale Road facing the Town Green, with two stories and several tenant spaces. Plans include a rooftop bar and event space, as well as second-story office space.

The Avondale Estates City Commission discussed the design of the project at an Oct. 25 session, Decaturish reports. According to the outlet, the commercial development is slated to be completed in about a year.

The teams behind the project are ATG Partners (the development team of Fabric Developers, LLC) and Healey Weatherholtz Properties.

Improvements are being made in the area surrounding the Town Green as well. According to Urbanize Atlanta, the Complete Street Project is moving forward, laying the foundation for an overhaul of the highway and sidewalk that pass by the Town Green.
