As LV Petroleum continues to expand its network of fast and fast-casual restaurant concepts in the valley, the brand appears to be launching several new restaurants at the intersection of West Russell Road and South Decatur Boulevard.
In addition to a new Charleys Cheesesteaks, which will open at 5715 S Decatur Boulevard, LV Petroleum has submitted paperwork for a new Sbarro location nearby, at 5735 Decatur Boulevard.
The pizza brand, which is known for locations in transit points, shopping centers, airports, and the like has a long history:
“In 1956, Carmela and Gennaro Sbarro opened the doors to their Italian salumeria in Brooklyn,” says the About page on the Sbarro website. “Carmela ‘Mama’ Sbarro made pizza slices for shift workers looking for a quick meal. Her slices were so popular that they soon opened a second location focused solely on pizza. Since then, Sbarro has brought the best pasta, salad, and of course the XL NY slice to 630 eateries across 28 countries. You’re welcome, world.”
Meanwhile the chain is continuing to grow the world over. The brand announced in a recent Instagram post that is has launched 100 new locations in 2024 alone:
“This week, Sbarro celebrates openings in Turkey, Poland, and Panama, marking 100 new restaurants opened this year alone!” says the post. “We’re on track to exceed 300 new openings in the last three years—a milestone made possible by the hard work and passion of our incredible franchisees, corporate teams, and partners worldwide.”
Sbarro offers pizza buy the slice in varieties like 4-Cheese White, NY Pepperoni and Jalapeno, NY Hawaiian, and more, along with individual stromboli varieties like Pepperoni; Pepperoni, Sausage and Bacon; and Spinach. There are also breakfast pizzas and stromboli.
