Tex-Mex Chain Planning Its First Louisiana Location for Baton Rouge

A new location of Fuego Tortilla Grill is up for approval by the Baton Rouge planning commission.

Known for its fresh-made tortillas and all-day breakfast tacos, Fuego Tortilla Grill is a Texas-based chain planning its first foray into Louisiana with a location near the LSU campus in Baton Rouge. The city’s planning commission is set to review plans for a Fuego Tortilla Grill at the intersection of Burbank and West Lee drives. The restaurant would be nearly 4,900 square feet and is slated to open by the end of next year. What Now New Orleans has reached out for comment.

The first Fuego Tortilla Grill opened in 2010 near Texas A&M University, and the chain currently has four Texas locations, all near other major universities in the Lone Star State. Those locations are open 24 hours a day from Tuesday to Sunday. A significant portion of the restaurants’ sales come from late-night and early-morning diners, according to reports.
