According to a recent permit filing, Black Water has filed for a new Rose City Park location at 5115 NE Sandy Boulevard.
If you’re not familiar with Black Water, Black Water is a well-loved vegan restaurant, with a full-service bar, as well as a venue space all in one. Black Water is also locally owned and operated.
According to a 2018 article from Eleven PDX, “Keith Testerman named the venture after a favorite early ‘80s track by Japanese band Execute (NOT the military company). Everything is a grassroots approach, and there’s a homey feeling as everyone gathers in front of the stage or fills the back seating to enjoy the 100% vegan menu, which is full of delicious burgers, hot “wings,” cashew-based sauces and vegan cupcakes (there’s also vegan brunch). When asked about the correlation between punk, metal and goth music communities and veganism, they says it’s about ethics.”
Another post about Black Water adds: “Black Water is a versatile cocktail bar in Portland, offering a unique blend of desserts and vegan options. With a casual and lively atmosphere, it caters to a diverse range of customers, providing delivery, takeout, and catering services. The menu boasts innovative dishes like vegan BBQ wings and mouthwatering cheeseburgers.”
“Customers rave about the tater tots, flavorful Caesar salad, and delectable nachos. The attentive staff, cozy ambiance, and extensive beer selection add to the overall dining experience. Whether you’re a vegan enthusiast or looking for a fun night out, Black Water promises a memorable culinary journey.”
